I wish to express my extreme gratitude to the office of Sen. Susan Collins and the Oncology Floor, 5West, at Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland for taking exceptional care of my brother during his battle with cancer.
Scott Neil Wilson, born and raised in Mechanic Falls, had been in the Air Force for 25 years at the time of his death, and was stationed with his family at Andrews Air Force Base. He was a patient at Bethesda Naval Medical Center due to complications of his disease.
It was his last wish to come home to Maine before he passed, and due to the hard work of Sen. Collins’ office and the staff of 5West, his wish came true.
The nurses, physicians and staff of 5West were committed to providing my brother, his wife and daughter and our family with extraordinary care and compassion. It was a very difficult time for all of us, and without their assistance we would have been lost.
All of them have our undying gratitude and appreciation. I wish that they could have known the man that they cared for. He was a wonderful son, father, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed and always remembered.
Tracey Maberry, Mechanic Falls
