NORWAY – Fare Share will host the first in a new monthly series, “Fare Share’s All About Food, Dinner and Speaker Series,” a presentation on “Living Gluten Free” by Suzanne Dunham.

Participants will learn how to live gluten-free during a program on Tuesday, June 19, at the Fare Share Commons, 445 Main St. There will be gluten-free recipes and products. The program starts at 6 p.m. with a gluten-free dinner for a fee of $10. From 7 to 8 p.m. a free presentation by the speaker will include dessert and tastings from gluten-free selections. Recipes and other handouts will be available.

Dunham has been living gluten free for many years. She is an herbalist, having received her certificate from Rosemary Gladstar of the Sage Mountain Herbal Center. She focused her energies on nutrition and specifically on gluten intolerance and alternatives after discovering that finding and preparing the alternatives could be difficult and confusing.

She also found that more and more people are diagnosed with gluten intolerance or celiac disease and that other conditions such as autism seem to improve with a gluten-free diet.

Call 743-9044 for reservations for the meal. Other topics will include “Raw Food Diet” on July 17, presented by Anastasia Agrafiotis, and “Local Food for Thought” on Aug. 21.
