AUBURN – The Auburn Public Library announces its 55th summer reading program for listeners and readers of all ages. This year’s theme is “Get A Clue @ Your Library.” A kick-off party was held June 18, but children can visit the library after that date to register.
Reading period is June 18 until July 31 during which time, as children keep a log of titles and progress to their goals, the Library will offer small incentives: Sea Dogs tickets, passes to Old Fort Western in Augusta, the traditional theme button, and a final gift, a paperback book available for selection between Aug. 4 and Sept. 15.
Among events planned is a preschool story series led by volunteers at 10 a.m. Tuesdays from June 19 through July 31.
Patrons may borrow a family pass to seven area museums and parks: the Children’s Discovery Museum in Augusta, Southworth Planetarium on the USM campus, Maine Wildlife Park in Gray, the Children’s Museum of Maine in Portland, the Portland Museum of Art, Maine Maritime Museum in Bath and the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport. The program is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Auburn-Lewiston.
