BOWDOIN – Eva N. Woods, 93, of the Augusta Road, Bowdoin, passed away on Saturday, June 16, at her son’s home in Bowdoin.
She was born in Springfield, N.H., on June 23, 1913, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Marshall) Nichols. She attended Enfield High School in New Hampshire, Class of 1930, and went on to Farmington Normal School, graduating in 1932. In 1963, she received her bachelor’s degree in education at Farmington.
She taught school in Bowdoin most of her career, educating many families in the local area. She also taught at Sabattus, Winn and Solon schools. She was a member of the Maine Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her sons, Eric Woods, and his wife, Lynn, of Bowdoin and William Woods II of Sheldon, Wash.; daughter, Cheryl Erb of Santa Monica, Calif.; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Amanda and Erica, all of Bowdoin; and a niece of New Hampshire.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William A. Woods, whom she married in Hillsboro, N.H. on April 13, 1941; a brother, Frank Nichols; and a sister, Geraldine Bumford.
