FARMINGTON – Franklin County Animal Shelter staff said Roscoe is an extra ordinary dog. He loves to go for long walks, and he is strong so it is a challenge at first, but he calms down quickly.
Roscoe, staff said, is an intelligent being and will learn new tricks easily; he knows some basic commands already. He is a great co-pilot and loves to go for long rides.
Roscoe has been at the shelter for months now and is just waiting for that special someone to take him home. Staff said he has been at the shelter so long because he is an American Staffordshire terrier, which is deemed as a pit bull.
Staff said most people do not realize that most pit bull type dogs are actually good dogs. They are bred for their determination and dedication. American Staffordshire terriers are great family dogs, staff said, and Roscoe is seeking a family.
New dogs at the shelter include a cocker spaniel from Farmington and a cocker spaniel from Livermore Falls.
