Jara Johnson, DO, daughter of Christine Johnson of Lewiston and a member of the graduating class of 2007 at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, was awarded the degree of doctor of osteopathic medicine at commencement ceremonies held at the Merrill Auditorium, Portland City Hall, on June 2.

Johnson will go on to residency training through the University of Rochester at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., in the pediatrics program.
