Mixed signals: New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg did little on Wednesday to quiet the speculation about a possible independent presidential bid.

Party swich: Bloomberg quit the Republican Party and registered as unaffiliated on Tuesday.

Intensions: Bloomberg said he intends to remain in his current job, but he also said of the White House race: “The more people that run for office the better.”
