PORTLAND – Jenna Beaulieu graduated as a top 10 senior from Catherine McAuley High School on May 27 at Merrill Auditorium with Bishop Malone presiding.

Beaulieu was awarded an academic excellence plaque and received the Sister Mary Luke Memorial Scholarship, awarded by the school faculty for “outstanding qualities of scholarship, leadership, character and humble service dedicated to the welfare of her McAuley family and to the honor and glory of God.”

During the graduation ceremony, Beaulieu led her graduating class by singing a solo part to the song, “One Moment in Time.” Throughout her four years at McAuley, she was part of the Chamber Chorale, which provided her with opportunities to sing during school concerts, varsity sporting events and throughout the Portland community.

Beaulieu also auditioned and was invited to be a member of Maine’s District II Choir for the last four years. She also volunteers at Holy Martyr’s Catholic Church in Falmouth as a cantor for the parish adult choir.

A figure skater since the age of 5, this spring Beaulieu performed in her 10th ice show at the Portland Ice Arena. She was also a singles tennis player for McAuley’s varsity tennis team with 13-1 season, helping her team advance through the playoffs to win the 2007 Western Maine Championship.

In the fall, she will attend the University of Maine Honors College in Orono, majoring in communication sciences and disorders with a minor in music.

Beaulieu is the daughter of Michael and Theresa Beaulieu of Gray and the granddaughter of Laurette Bilodeau of Lewiston, the late Gerald R. Bilodeau and the late Leo and Theresa Beaulieu.
