I listen to Auburn city officials talk about joining the cities of Auburn and Lewiston together. I don’t think that is the way to go. Those people who were born and lived here all their lives, worked and paid taxes (and still do), don’t need outsiders to come here and run the cities.

I wonder how many city officials were born and brought up in this city, or state?

The idea of one city manager for both cities isn’t workable. All Auburn needs is a new city manager and a secretary. The manager should be someone who is not a spender of tax dollars. There are probably a few other department heads who ought to leave and are overpaid.

I believe that people in Lewiston think different than the people in Auburn, and that is the way it should be. There is a river that separates the two cities.

I believe God put it there as a boundary line between the cities, and it should stay that way. I’m sure there are many people in Lewiston, people who were born there and worked there all their lives, who feel the same.
