AUBURN – Linda A. Skinner, 64, of Norway passed away at the Hospice House on Wednesday, June 20, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 3, 1942, the daughter of Dorothy and Herbert Watson. She attended school in Norway and hairdressing school in Portland. She married Bruce P. Skinner on Nov. 6, 1982.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 82 of Norway. She worked for Smith’s Shop ‘n’ Save and Nancy’s Family Hair Care. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, bird watching, fishing, gardening and snowmobiling. She enjoyed summer barbecues and spending the holidays with her family.
She is survived by her husband of Norway; her mother of Norway; her children, Elizabeth Knox, and her husband, David, of Buckfield, Jo’Anna McKay, and her husband, Mark, of Otisfield and Kirk Skinner of Auburn; two grandsons, Christopher Knox of Melbourne, Fla., and Taylor Knox of Buckfield.
She was predeceased by twin sons; her father, Herbert Watson; and her sister, Vernita Thomas.
The family would like to thank the staff at Central Maine Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center and the Hospice House for all their compassionate care and support.
