LEWISTON – Anita G. Orino, 79, died Sunday, June 24, at the Central Maine Medical Center. She was resident of Waldo Street in Rumford.
She was born in Rumford on Oct. 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alvina (Perry) Gallant Sr. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford. She worked with her husband Harold and together they owned and operated the Corner Pharmacy in Rumford for many years, and she later worked at Bartash Drug Store, where she retired.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church, and was also a member of the Greater Rumford Senior Citizen’s Club.
She was married in Rumford, on Aug. 22, 1951, to the late Harold Orino, who died in Rumford on March 15, 2005.
Survivors include two nephews, Michael Gallant, and his wife, Molly of Hallowell, Brian Gallant, and his wife, Analisa, of Gardiner; sister-in-law, Avis Orino of Rumford; nieces, Alecia Pelletier of Virginia, Terri Palmer, and her husband, Matt, of Rumford and Barbara Orino, and her fiancé, Steve Carter, of Dixfield; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Edward and Thomas Gallant.
