Artists Jeff Soifer and Kay McKeever Allison will be the featured guests tonight from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the third Artist Talk for the “Beyond the Palette” exhibit at L/A Arts Gallery 5. Soifer, a partner and creative director of Encompass Marketing Design, holds degrees in business administration and law. His drawings, like the one above titled “Ball Walker,” are whimsical. Allison is a teacher at Lewiston Middle School. In college, she focused on oil painting, but her current passion is fusing glass in a kiln. She adds details to each layer and controls the firing to achieve a unique look in the small landscapes she creates. Advanced reservations are required for Artist Talks, with a $5 donation.
