LEWISTON – Gerard J. Boucher, 70, of 8 South Lisbon Road, Lewiston, died suddenly Wednesday, June 27, at his residence after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston on June 2, 1937, the son of Philion and Dolores (Boudreau) Boucher and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He was educated in Rumford and Lewiston schools.
He married the former Juliette C. Martin on May 7, 1960, and she died on March 25, 2003.
He was employed as a cabinetmaker for more than 40 years and established Modern Woodtech in 1985, which he owned and operated.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly fishing and hunting. He especially loved mentoring fly fishing and fly tying.
He is survived by three sons, Richard Boucher, and his companion, Jann Melnick, of Lisbon, Daniel Boucher of Lewiston and Steven Boucher of Lewiston; one daughter, Rachel Nadeau, and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston; one brother, Leo Boucher of Buckfield; one sister, Arlene Lavoie, and her husband, Norman, of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Justin, Jenna, Kaleb, Seth, Joshua, Jonathan and Andrew.
He was predeceased by a son, Kevin Boucher Sept. 1, 1995.
