RUMFORD – Andrew “A.C.” Arsenault Sr., 74, of Ames Avenue in Mexico, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 27, at Rumford Hospital with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Rumford, on May 5, 1933, a son of Augustine F. and Angelina (Chiasson) Arsenault. He was educated in Mexico schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was employed for more than 30 years with Boise Cascade Paper Co. in the steam plant.
He was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and was very active with the Senior Citizens of Rumford.
He was a Great White Northern Cribbage Champion of Rumford.
He was a devoted father to his children, Andrew Jr., Debra and Renee. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and eating his food.
He is survived by a son, Andrew C. Arsenault Jr., and wife, Tracy, of Peru; two daughters, Debra J. Caron of Sabattus and Renee I. Arsenault of Sabattus; a sister, Diane Kimball, and husband, Paul, of Lewiston; three brothers, Henry (Audie) Arsenault of Andover, Leo P. Arsenault, and wife, Sue, of Mexico and Joseph J. “Jim” Arsenault, and wife, Connie, of Mexico; five grandchildren, Kendra Arsenault, Jesse Arsenault and Briah Arsenault, all of Peru, and Tiffany Caron and Natalie Caron, both of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, William Arsenault of Dixfield and Francis J. Arsenault of Mexico.
