FARMINGTON – Anita Mooney, 86, of Farmington, formerly of South Rumford, died early Wednesday, June 27, at Orchard Park Living Center, surrounded by her loving family. Psalm 116 Verse 15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his godly ones.”
She was born in Woodland, June 26, 1921, a daughter of Ernest and Avis (St. Clair) Martell and received her education in Rumford schools. On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Andrew Mooney in Rumford. He died July 13, 2004. She was a devoted wife and mother and was a lifetime member of Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club in Rumford and enjoyed going to dances there with her husband and friends. She enjoyed country music and had attended the Mexico Baptist Church.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Sue Gallant of East Wilton and Jane Whetsteine, and her husband, Tim, of Lewiston; grandchildren, Diana Theriault of Lewiston, Jessica Theriault of Brighton, Colo., Moriah Theriault of Lewiston, Brad Gallant, and his wife, Liza, of Waterville and Jane Clukey, and her husband, Brock, of Andover; great-grandchildren, Deontae Robinson of Lewiston, Jenesis Tolentino of Brighton, Colo., Emma Clukey and Paisley Clukey, both of Andover; and a great-grandson, due to be born in August, Seth Michael Gallant.
She was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Tripp; a daughter, Andrea Mooney; and a grandson, Michael Gallant.
