Norm Colter of Readfield gave himself a fabulous birthday present Wednesday.

Colter, who celebrated his 76th birthday a day earlier, scored a hole-in-one on No. 8 at Springbrook Golf Club in Leeds. He used a 5-iron and a Nike One ball.

Playing partners were Norm Boulanger, David Dyer and Dave Ehrenfried.

At Wilson Lake Country Club in Wilton, guest Joseph Libby of Clinton notched his second-career ace on Tuesday. Libby unearthed his gem on the par-3, 140-yard seventh hole, using a 9-iron. Terry Theriault of Belgrade witnessed the feat.
