FARMINGTON – Dorothy L. Voter, 83, of Phillips, died Saturday, June 23, at Franklin Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 9, 1923, in Weld, the daughter of Frank and Eleanor (Fields) Torsey. She was educated in the schools of Phillips and was a graduate of Phillips High School.

In 1960, she married Clayton “Stub” Voter at Strong. He died in 2005. She was employed at Diamond Match, Phillips Wood Heel Mill and Everett Mitchell Shank Mill, retiring in 1965.

She enjoyed riding and watching baseball games and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.

She is survived by a son, Paul Gardiner, and his wife, Barbara, of Avon; a daughter, Sue Shaw of Phillips; grandchildren, Mike Paul of Kingfield, Laurie Savageau of Ellsworth, Robert Gardiner of Utah, Scott Shaw of Phillips and Kathy Butterfield of Littleton, N.H.; and five great-grandchildren.
