Criminal mischief

An apartment at 240 Bartlett St. was tagged with graffiti sometime in the last two weeks.

A Lamey Wellehan truck parked at 54 Canal St. was tagged with graffiti sometime between June 22 at 6 p.m. and June 25 at noon.

A mailbox at 491 Pond Road was smashed on June 25 at 9:48 p.m.

A mailbox at 437 Pond Road was smashed on June 25 at 9:30 p.m.

Marden’s warehouse on Locust Street was tagged with graffiti overnight June 26-27.

A vehicle parked at 54 Tall Pines Drive had a mirror smashed overnight June 26-27.

Thefts

A vehicle parked at the National Guard Armory on Alfred Plourde Parkway was burglarized between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. June 24. A laptop computer was stolen; entry was gained through a partially opened window.

A red and black Mongoose bicycle was stolen from outside of 322 Bates St. between 2:30 and 11:30 p.m. on June 26. The bike was unsecured.

Burglaries

An unlocked apartment at 33 Howard St. was burglarized between 10:10 and 11 p.m. on June 24. DVDs, Xbox games and CDs were stolen.

A Plus Cleaners at 680 Lisbon St. was burglarized between 4 p.m. June 25 and 8 a.m. on June 26. There were no signs of forced entry, a cash box was stolen.

The property at 2 Mill St. was burglarized sometime overnight June 25-26.

Habitual offender notification

Michael Nichols, 43, has a suspended license with habitual offender status. He has 29 previous suspensions and has a last known address of 73 Oak St. in Lewiston. If you see Nichols driving, please notify us immediately.

Nigerian scams

A resident of 41 McNamara St. received three counterfeit money orders in the mail June 25. They arrived with a letter asking him to cash them, send the majority of the money to an address in Connecticut and keep $500 as a service fee. He did not fall victim to the scam.

A resident of 108 Sabattus St. received a fraudulent check in the mail June 25 from Canada. The letter asked him to cash the check and send the money to an address in British Columbia. After calling the bank that the check was allegedly drawn from, he was told it was counterfeit.

Fugitive from justice arrest

Nicholas Spofford, 22, was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant on June 26 at 1:23 a.m. at East Avenue and Lisbon Street. He was the passenger of a vehicle which was stopped for speeding. The warrant was charging probation violations stemming from an OUI. He also has history of assaulting police officers. He will be extradited to Orange County, Fla.

Sexual assault arrest

Shawn Latham, 35, was arrested for unlawful sexual contact, attempted gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual touching, visual sexual aggression, and violation of bail conditions on June 26 at 8:50 a.m. after he assaulted a juvenile.

OUI arrest

Daniel Ellington, 25, was arrested for operating under the influence on June 26 at 3:04 a.m. at Lisbon Street/East Avenue after he was stopped for speeding.

Registered sex offenders

Richard Plourde is a registered sex offender who was convicted of gross sexual assault in 2002 against a juvenile. He is on probation and is living at 45 Lowell St.

Henry Baker is a registered sex offender who was convicted of gross sexual assault in 2004 against a juvenile. He is on probation and is living at 23 Bartlett St.
