LISBON – Chief Worumbo’s 9th annual Androscoggin Fun River Race, “Fire In The Sky”, is scheduled for Sunday, July 15. The race is part of Lisbon’s Moxie Festival.
The 2007 race will reflect on the great fire of 1987 that destroyed the historic Worumbo Mill.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. race day. The race will begin at 11 a.m. at the Durham Boat Launch on Route 136 near the Auburn-Durham line, and end six miles downriver at the Sabattus River Boat Launch on Route 196 at Lisbon.
Entry fee, $14 per person, includes a race T-shirt, lunch and beverages if registration is received before Wednesday, July 11. Race Registration forms may be downloaded at www.moxiefestival.com, or picked up at Faye’s Barber Shop, Lisbon Falls.
There are assorted racing divisions, from canoe and kayak to Pro-Open.
