LEWISTON – The smooth sounds of The Jason Spooner Trio will fill Fountain Park at noon Thursday, July 12, as part of L/A Arts’ free Music in the Parks concert series.

Making up the trio are prolific, singer/songwriter Spooner, who has roots, folk and blues influences; classically trained bassist Andy Rice, who has a degree in jazz music; and rock-solid drummer Reed Chambers, who has deep roots in funk, soul and reggae.

The band’s energetic sound is a blend of roots, folk and blues focused around Spooner’s tastefully rhythmic, flat-picking style.

To listen to the band, log on to http://www.laarts.org/performances/MIP2.htm, where there is also a link to Spooner’s Web site.

Concerts last about an hour. Fountain Park is in the Bates Mill Complex behind FX Marcotte Furniture Store on Mill Street.

This year, parking for Lewiston concertgoers is free at the Chestnut Street Parking Garage. Get your ticket stamped by L/A Arts personnel while at the concert.

If it rains, the concert will be held – same date and time – at the Franco-American Heritage Center at 46 Cedar Street.
