The Maine Baseball Hall of Fame will induct 11 men in its annual ceremony at Holiday Inn By The Bay in Portland on Sunday, July 29:
• Ray Baum of Rumford, semipro player and longtime Stephens High coach
• Larry Boyce of Temple, player-coach for Temple Townies
• Kenneth “Bud” Cook of Farmington, instrumental in starting local Little League and semipro coach
• Frank Davis of East Millinocket, third baseman at University of Maine in the early 1970s
• Tony DiBiase of South Portland, all-Yankee Conference player at Maine and South Portland HS coach
• Dick Flagg of Portland, still active after 49 years of umpiring
• Roger Laprise of Springvale, spent three years in Pittsburgh Pirates’ system
• Don Oakes of Wilton, pitched more than 160 games in semipro career than spanned parts of four decades
• Kevin Rand of Lakeland, Fla., head trainer and director of medical services for the Detroit Tigers, has worked in MLB for 26 seasons
• Porter “Pete” Sickels, coached at Kents Hill and Mt. Blue and played in St. Louis Cardinals’ organization
• Leon “Stubby” Truman of Norway, posted a 232-78 career record in the Pine Tree League
