LEWISTON – The Lewiston Senior Citizens will hold the annual Senior Fun Day on Thursday, Aug. 9, at Lost Valley. There will be activities, raffles and surprises with a theme of “Hawaiian Luau.”

There will be $10 prizes given for the winners of the following categories in a costume contest: best female costume, best male costume, most original and the craziest costume.

A raffle table will include gift certificates for meals, oil changes and services and there will be a pot ‘o gold.

Games will include a coin toss, water balloon toss, beanbag toss and mini-golf challenge. Volunteers are needed to help run the games and events. Those interested should call 784-2926, ext. 207.

For $1 a “victim,” people can put their favorite senior in “jail” and raise money for the seniors when they bail themselves out. Lost Valley will provide Hawaiian luau music.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. and at 10 bingo and card playing will begin. At 11:30 there will be indoor and outdoor games and prizes. A noon costume contest will be followed by a hot dog and hamburger buffet. There will be entertainment, dancing, drawing of raffles and games inside and outside, weather

Tickets are on sale in the Lewiston Senior Citizens’ office at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Cost is $12 a person. Ticket deadline is Friday, Aug. 3.

People don’t have to be members of the Lewiston Senior Citizens to attend, but they must be age 50 or over.
