LEWISTON – Elliot Little League of Lewiston will be well-represented in upcoming state tournaments.

The Elliot 13-14 Senior Baseball All-Stars defeated Auburn Suburban 18-6 Monday to claim the District 5 title. Tucker Beaudoin was the winning hurler, with Corbin Hyde pitching in relief. Cody Dussault collected 3 hits and 3 RBI. Ben Wigant also drove in 3 runs with his 2 hits. Nick Moreau whacked a double for Auburn.

Elliot begins State Tournament play on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Bucksport against the District 4 champion.

Majors Prevail

Elliot’s Major Baseball All-Stars (11-12) captured the District 5 championship Tuesday, a 6-2 victory over Gardiner. Sam Morin pitched 5 strong innings, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 5. Jake Bergeron relieved and yielded 2 runs. Luke Cote got the last out on a popup to short with the bases loaded. Matt Poto rapped 2 hits for Elliot, while Bergeron ripped a double. Jordan Charest, Luke Cote, Matt Bouchard and Eric Soucy also had hits. Greg Walton, Nick Clements and Danny Boochko recorded Gardiner’s 3 hits. Dennis Meehan and Ben Dickey shared the pitching duties.

Elliot now enters the State Tournament at Auburn Suburban, taking on the District 2 king on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sweetser Field.
