FARMINGTON – SAD 9 Assistant Superintendent Sue Pratt on Tuesday will ask school board directors for permission to explore adding a school program for 4-year-old children.
With the Mallett School under review for either a new school or a building renovation project, if there is going to be a program offered it would need to be considered in the design for space reasons, Superintendent Michael Cormier said.
Programs for 4-year-olds are being offered in other school districts, including SAD 36 and Jay.
The program generates revenue for a school system, Cormier said.
In other business at the 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, meeting at the Mt. Blue High School Library, directors will consider appointing Dr. John Hickey, a pediatrician, as school physician.
Dr. Rod Prior is unable to provide the service anymore.
