BERLIN, N.H. – Coos County Family Health Services held its annual awards meeting on June 21, recognizing employees and board members at the Northland Dairy Bar and Restaurant. Special recognition awards were given to employees, a non-employee and board members.

Employees were asked to nominate a non-employee for the Community Benefit Award. The award went to Dr. Doug Huntley for volunteering to be the supervising dentist for the school-based oral health program.

Huntley has been volunteering his time since 2000 when a dental hygienist arrived on staff. With his support the program has been able to succeed in providing dental screenings, cleanings and education to children in grades kindergarten through three in eight area schools.

Employees were also encouraged to nominate employees for undefined awards. This year a most valued player award was given to Larry Roberge, maintenance clerk who has been working for CCFHS since 2004. During a year of changes in the maintenance department, Roberge was willing to pitch in whenever and wherever he was needed.

Another award was issued to the “Triage Troopers.” The team of nurses can be found at all three clinical sites. In Gorham there is Doreen Boucher, RN, Carol Goulet, LPN, and Donna Stiles, RN. At the Pleasant Street location in Berlin there are Beverly Hodgman, LPN, and Barbara Usereau, LPN. In the Page Hill offices are Danielle Gagnon, LPN, and Beverly Higgins, RN.

The volunteer, community-based board of directors was also recognized. Fulfilling a fourth term is Lucie Ramsey, secretary to the board. Second-term members are Bob Pelchat, president; Lynda Roberts, treasurer; Cheryl Pinette, Marge McClellan, Robert Goudreau, Asa Brosnan and Linda Slowick. First-term members are Ronald Goudreau, vice president, and Paul Pinette. Newest members are Gloria Tremblay, Betty Gosselin and Dennis Cox. Two board members left: John Henne and Dan McCrum.
