ANDOVER – The 12th annual Andover photography contest will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, downstairs in the town hall. There will be live music by Roger Drouin from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Photographs are placed into four subject groups: Group A, portrait, animal and landscape; Groups B and C, separated into age brackets; Group D, four subdivisions: color prints by adults, 17 years and older; color prints by children age 11 to 16; color prints by children under 10; black and white prints of all ages.

There will be 97 ribbons awarded, an increase of 30 from last year. Six photographs will be awarded the grand prize and one, best of show. Best of show will receive $25. There will be honorable mention ribbons also. Judging is based on composition, subject matter, artistry, clarity and demonstrative. All photographs must be submitted at the Andover Town Hall no later than Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Dates and times for submitting photographs are Saturday, July 28, 1 to 4 p.m.; Monday, July 30, 5 to 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 1, 4 to 8 p.m. All photographs must be picked up between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.
