FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Hospital announces that orthopedic surgeon Dr. Nancy Cummings has been accepted for active membership to the American Orthopaedic Association, the oldest and most distinguished orthopaedic association in the world.
Obtaining membership in the AOA requires that a current AOA member nominates you to join and that it must be seconded by another member.
Only those who have made significant contributions to education, research, and/or the practice of orthopaedic surgery achieve membership.
Currently, Cummings is the only physician from Maine with AOA membership.
She is Franklin Orthopedic’s medical director and lead orthopedic surgeon. Besides her role there, she is also the director of the Carrabassett Clinic at Sugarloaf, and the physician for Carrabassett Valley Academy and the University of Maine at Farmington.
She has more than 20 years experience in orthopedics.
Franklin Orthopedics is at 105 Wilton Road, Farmington, approximately one-quarter mile south of Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Other providers include Dr. Carmen Crofoot and physician assistant Greg Ellis.
