AUBURN – Edward A. Hall, 86, of Durham, died at the Hospice House on Friday, July 27.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1920, in Mount Vernon, the son of Benjamin and Lucy (Perkins) Hall. He attended Mount Vernon schools and then went on to serve his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Hope Hersey on Sept. 5, 1947. He worked for many years at Eastland as a shoe cutter. He was a member of AMVETS Post 13 and was a local post commander and held other state offices. He enjoyed sports, especially the Durham and Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Jenkins, and husband, Elwood; grandsons, Todd Therrien, and girlfriend, Sarah Martin and Eric Therrien, and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, E. Jay and Hope; brother, Ralph Hall, and wife, Gail; sisters, Alice Bennett, and husband, Frank and Edith Johnson.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Hope; brothers, Frank and Stephen Hall; and sisters, Carol Hagen, Florence and Theresa Hall.
