BUCKFIELD – SAD 39 directors appointed George Reuter on Wednesday interim principal at Buckfield Junior-Senior High School for one year.
Reuter taught business and computer technology at the school for the past 8 years. Previously, he served seven years as technology coordinator.
Reuter was given an unpaid one year leave of absence from his teaching position.
Superintendent Richard Colpitts reported conversations on possible consolidation with SADs 43, 44, 21 and 52. A meeting is scheduled for Aug. 23 with SAD 52 officials, preceded by an Aug. 9 session with officials from SADs 43, 44 and 21.
SAD 39 has petitioned the state for a facilitator to assist in finding another school that may consider consolidation.
In other board matters, Lindsay Marston was appointed to a middle school teaching position and Caleb McNaughton as middle school science teacher.
The board was informed of the appointment of Marc Lavalliere as director of operations.

Kimberly Eastman and Aimee Gibbs resigned as special education technicians.
