LEWISTON – Shan Teixeira has joined the faculty of the Central Maine School of Massage Therapy, 1761 Lisbon St. Teixeira is a physical therapist with more than 14 years of clinical experience in treating all types of musculoskeletal conditions. He will teach the musculoskeletal anatomy day class this year.

Teixeira completed a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from the University of New England in 1993, and a clinical master’s degree in orthopedic manual therapy in 1997 through the Ola Grimsby Institute. He has advanced training in musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, assessment, specific exercises and stretches, as well as joint mobilization and myofascial release techniques. Teixeira is the owner of Orthopedic & Spine Physical Therapy of L/A, located in Auburn. He is an APTA board certified orthopedic physical therapist, and has been published in the “Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy.” He is a native of Lewiston, and gained extensive experience working in Baltimore and Nashville before relocating back to Maine in 2000.
