SOUTH Paris – Ethel M. Damon, 95, of Norway, died Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Maine Veterans Home.

She was born in Bridgton, Jan. 18, 1912, the daughter of George and Blanche Young Allen. She attended Bridgton schools.

She worked for local shoe shops in Norway in her younger years, and later worked for many years at Stephens Memorial Hospital in the kitchen, retiring in 1970. Ethel enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She also loved to play beano and watch wrestling on television. She was married to George S. Damon, who predeceased her in 1993.

She is survived by two sons, Edwin R. Rolfe Jr. of Harrison, and Rodney Rolfe and his wife, Pat, of Norway; two daughters, Joyce and husband, Oayma Jr. Colby, of Norway, and Diana Rolfe of Norway; a brother, Rodney Allen of Bridgton; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Nadeau; eight brothers; and eight sisters.
