RANGELEY – The home of Terri and Errol Wentzell today will be the site of the “Art Under the Birches” art show, featuring watercolors, oil and pastel paintings, prints, mosaics, jewelry, and unique hand-painted fish reproductions.

The show is a family affair, with works by Terri; her daughter Kristina; her son Paul and his wife, Cindy; and family friend Liz Lemont.

Growing up on Rolling Hill Ranch, Terri was was inspired at an early age by the area’s natural beauty of the area. She attended the Portland School of Art, where she studied painting in watercolors and oils. She later focused on raising a family and creating a variety of media and handcrafts over the years, before returning to watercolors several years ago. Her current work features landscapes and village scenes.

Both sets of Paul’s grandparents owned sporting camps in Rangeley for many years, and he grew up listening to colorful stories about guiding and big fish. These memories inspired him to combine his passion for fly fishing and the Rangeley Lakes with his love of art.

Kristina, Cindy and Lemont met while studying at the Massachusetts College of Art, where each earned a with a bachelor of fine arts degree. All mothers of young children, they’ve collaborated in “working art weekends” over the past several years, motivating and inspiring each other to further develop their fine art skills. Kristina paints studio and plein air landscapes in oil; Cindy is a pastel artist working in landscapes and fine portraiture; and Lemont paints still lifes in pastel and watercolor.

The Wentzell home is at 39 Stratton Road. The art show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 864-3519, or go online to www.wentzellcreative.com.
