Criminal Mischief
VIP on Lisbon Street was tagged with graffiti between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. on Aug. 1.
A Lepage bakery trailer parked at 850 Lisbon St. was tagged with graffiti between 5 p.m. on July 30 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 1.
Victory Lane Oil Changes at 895 Sabattus St. had the business sign damaged some time overnight July 31-Aug.1.
A vehicle parked at 87 Bartlett St. had the rear window smashed between 10:30 p.m. July 31 and 9 a.m. Aug. 1.
Two windows in the rear of the Multi-Purpose Center were broken out overnight Aug. 1 to Aug. 2.
Thefts
A vehicle parked at 625 Sabattus St. was burglarized sometime after 9 p.m. July 31.
A vehicle parked at 1046 Main St. had items stolen from the exterior overnight July 31 and Aug. 1.
A vehicle parked at CMMC was burglarized and had a cell phone stolen between July 30 and Aug. 1.
A vehicle parked on Grove Street was burglarized prior to 3 p.m. Aug. 2. A driver’s license was taken.
A bicycle was stolen from outside the public library prior to 4 p.m. Aug. 2.
Burglaries
An apartment at 44 Winter St. was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Aug. 2. The suspect reached through an unlocked window and stole a jar of change that was left in plain view.
An apartment at 526 East Ave. was burglarized between 6 and 10 p.m. Aug. 2.
Aggravated Assaults
Nancy Jean, 54, was charged with attempted murder and elevated aggravated assault after she hit her mother in the forehead with a hatchet. This apparently stemmed from an argument that had lasted all day. Jean had been living with her mother for the last three weeks. The mother was able to drive herself to St. Mary’s where she received treatment for a large laceration to her head.
Officers responded to 116 Sabattus St. on Aug. 3 at 6:56 a.m. for a report of an assault. Officers discovered one male with a head wound that allegedly was caused by a beer bottle. He claims he was jumped by three males who were not known to him and was struck in the head with a broken bottle while wrestling with them.
Operating After Suspension Arrest
Chad Nichols, 18, was arrested Aug. 1 at 10:38 p.m. at East and Campus avenues and charged with operating a vehicle without a license. The vehicle was stopped for having a rear plate light out.
Operating Under the Influence Arrests
Michelle Grimmo, 37, was charged with operating under the influence on Aug. 3 at 12:41 a.m. at 790 Sabattus St. following a routine traffic stop.
Holly Nelson, 24, was charged with operating under the influence Aug. 3 at 1:30 a.m. at Main Street/Brooks Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for speeding.
Habitual Offender Notification
Cathleen Costello, 31, has a suspended license with habitual offender status. She has 13 previous suspensions on her driving record and her last known address was 2 Granite St. in Lewiston. If you see Cathleen driving, please notify police immediately at 784-6421.
