Auburn – Rene V. Caron, 81, of South Avenue, Lewiston, died Saturday evening, Aug. 4, at the Hospice House.

He was born in Lewiston, Nov. 8, 1925, the son of Victor and Angelina (Madore) Caron.

He worked for over 25 years at Bates Mill where he retired due to ill health. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross senior citizens, and he was also a member of the Past-Time Club.

He enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, and loved working in his garden.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary F. (Frechette) Caron, whom he married on Sept. 17, 1955; his two sisters, Jeannette LaBerge of Lewiston, and Lucienne Beaulieu of Sabattus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rene’s wife, Mary, would like to thank Dr. Roger Austin and the entire staff at the Hospice House for the wonderful care and hospitality during this difficult time.
