Lewiston – Robert S. Orre, 83, of South Paris, formerly of Norway, died Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Gardner, Mass., on March 2, 1924, the son of Birger and Sandra Jackson Orre. He was a graduate of Norway High School.

He married Nancy Noble Greenleaf on June 16, 1968. He worked as a farmer and also at Wilner Wood Products for many years.

He retired from Wilners in 1982. He was on the Board of Selectman for the town of Norway for 15 years, and served as chairman for 12 of the 15 years. He enjoyed skiing and playing football when he was in high school.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of South Paris; three stepchildren, Michael Hatch of South Paris, Judy Patten of Gloucester, Va., and Katherine Hatch of Hebron; two grandchildren, Robert Patten of Atlanta, Ga., and Rebecca Visner of Gloucester, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Nathan Webb, of Gloucester, Va.; a nephew, Robert Greenlaw and his wife, Betty, of Portland; and a great-nephew, Robbie Greenlaw of Portland.

He was predeceased by a sister, Lila Greenlaw.
