LEWISTON – Carole L. Leavitt, 65, of Poland Road, Auburn, died Sunday, Aug. 5, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, unexpectedly, with her family at her side.
She was born in Lewiston on May 20, 1942, a daughter to the late Chester and Eva (Allen) McNally. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1960. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Richard F. Leavitt on March 6, 1965. She worked for Bates College and later retired from Tambrands Inc. In her spare time, she sold Avon.
She was always a spiritual and devoted Christian and was very charitable with her time, volunteering when ever she was needed. She enjoyed baking, berry picking, knitting, crafts and spending time with her family. She will be missed for her sincere compassion for others.
She leaves her husband of 42 years, Richard of Auburn; a daughter, Robyn Spugnardi, and her husband, Keith, of Lewiston; two sons, Rodney Leavitt, and his wife, Cynthia, of Auburn and Blaine Leavitt, and his companion, Jean Bois, of Richmond; four grandchildren, Cody, Zack, Brianna and Joey; three sisters, Mary Poto, and her husband, Rozzi, Annabelle Lovering and Ida Camire; a brother, William McNally, and his wife, Ann; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Phyliss Labranche; and three brothers, Chet-Lu, Harry and Howard McNally.
