FARMINGTON – Carolyn Adelle Tolman Mason, 85, of Farmington Falls died Sunday, Aug. 5, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1922, in Farmington, a daughter of Lester W. and Villa (Russell) Tolman. She married the late Rodolphus “Spud” Mason on Dec. 6, 1944, at Bean’s Corner in Jay. They celebrated 60 years together 10 days before he crossed over on Dec. 16, 2004.
She was educated in the schools of New Sharon and graduated in 1939 from New Sharon High School. She spoke fondly of the experiences she had in places including New Sharon, Rye, N.H., Buckfield, Farmington Falls and at Forster Mfg. in Strong.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Mason, and her husband, Joe Dugay; a son, Ronald Mason, and his wife, Linda, of Farmington Falls; a brother, the Rev. John R. Tolman Sr., and his wife, Jane, of New Sharon; two grandsons, Adam Mason, and his wife, Kristin and Robin Mason of Farmington Falls; two great-grandsons, Henry and Alexander Mason; two sisters-in-law, Marin Wittier of Farmington and Methel Pazdersky of Stamford, Conn.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sister, Jane Townsend; and a niece.
