LEWISTON – Gisele Ganz and Brownie MacIntosh, who perform together as Julie & Brownie for family audiences, will perform a few songs from the book “A Pirates Life For Me,” co-authored by MacIntosh, Friday Aug. 10, at Percy’s Burrow.

MacIntosh will sign copies of the book at 11:30 a.m. at the book store in the Lewiston Mall, 20 East Ave.

In “A Pirate’s Life for Me!” MacIntosh and co-author Julie Thompson take readers on a historical voyage, introducing children and adults to famous pirates (of fact and fiction) along the way.

MacIntosh is an internationally published songwriter whose credits include songs for The Kingston Trio, The Irish Rovers, the PBS series “Nova,” and the Atlantic Music Corporation. One half of the Julie & Brownie duo, he performs for children all over the country. MacIntosh also wrote “The Streamlined Double Decker Bus,” published by Covered Bridge Press in 1995 and based on his original song. MacIntosh currently resides in New Hampshire with his wife and son.

Ganz, a Boston-based actress and singer whose credentials include performances with the Boston Pops, joined the team as “Julie” in 2005.
