LEWISTON – The first meeting of a newly organized Anime Club for teens and young adults will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Lewiston Public Library.

The purpose of the group is to provide a forum for those age 15 to 25 with an interest in the contemporary Japanese comic art forms of anime and manga to try their own hand as anime artists and to share their work through informal peer review sessions.

People of all ability levels are invited to participate, with coaching opportunities open to those with the most experience.

The club will meet in the teen room on the second floor of the library, which is located at 200 Lisbon St. in downtown Lewiston. There is no need to sign up in advance. More information is available by contacting the LPL reference desk at 784-0135, ext. 210.
