Seeking vendors

BUCKFIELD – The Buckfield Labor Day Committee is seeking food and craft vendors for the three-day Labor Day festivities Saturday through Monday, Sept. 1 to 3.

Saturday events will include a dance outside on the football field from 8 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday, a fireman’s muster, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a pig roast. A parade will be held Monday starting at 10 a.m. The community day will start at 11 a.m. All events will be at the football field behind the town office. Breastfeeding

BRIDGTON – “Mom’s Milk,” the breastfeeding support group at Bridgton Hospital, will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. every other Monday, starting Aug. 13, through the remainder of the year in the family quiet room.

The leader/consultant will be international board certified lactation consultant Crystal Coen, RN, or Laurie Dougherty, RN, certified lactation counselor. Club supper

NORWAY – The Heywood Club will hold a public supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the clubhouse on Crockett Ridge.

Menu will include chicken pies, casseroles, homebaked beans, rolls and dessert. Cost is $6 for adults and $2 for children under 5.

Family reunion

HARTFORD – The Gammon-Davis-Richmond annual reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the camp of Roger Gammon on Gurney Hill Road. A potluck dinner will be served and activities will be the same as last year.

Rotary clambake

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Rotary Club invites employees, friends and relatives to the annual lobster and clambake from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The event will be held “under the tents” rain or shine. It will include lobster, steamers, corn, French fries, soda and watermelon. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Takeout meals are available.

Football event

PARIS – Boys entering seventh or eighth grade this fall interested in playing football should report to the middle school from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, to receive equipment and get cleared by the nurse.

Practices will begin on Monday, Aug. 20, and run all week from 5 to 7 p.m. at the middle school field. Those players who have already received equipment from camp this summer should still meet with the nurse. Call 743-6976 with questions.
