LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Earl B. Gowell was held Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church, after prayers from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son. The Rev. Michael Seavey celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at the interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery. During Mass the readers were Chris Murray and Amy Ashton. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Alison Hrysuna and Amanda Powers. Words of remembrance written by Earl’s daughter Betsy were read by Father Seavey at the conclusion of Mass. After committal prayers, the U.S. Army Honor Detail played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to Earl’s grandson, Second Lt. Ryan Gosselin, U.S. Army, who in turn presented the flag to his grandmother, Mary. Pallbearers were Second Lt. Ryan Gosselin, Cameron Gosselin, Scott Gowell, Dale Gowell and Neal and Chris Murray. Following the committal all were invited to a reception of fellowship at the home of Judy and Jerry Gosselin in Lewiston.
