MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Police are investigating the hanging death of an inmate at the Hillsborough County Jail.
Derek Doucet, 22, of Hudson was found hanging in his cell around 8 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
Corrections officers and nurses could not revive Doucet, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Corrections Superintendent James O’Mara said Doucet was alone in his cell at the time.
He was being held while awaiting trial on attempted robbery and resisting arrest charges in Nashua. He was arrested on Saturday.
