Nason recognized for mentor support
PARIS – The Child Health Center has recognized Buffy Nason for her dedication to their Big Brothers Big Sisters Programs in the Oxford Hills community.
Nason is the guidance secretary at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and has been an asset to the site-based Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.
Mentor Coordinator Corrine Downs said, “An important element that facilitates a smooth processing for a Big Brother or a Big Sister is a special contact person. Buffy Nason is that person. She goes above and beyond her job duties. She creates Big Brothers Big Sisters application forms, passes them out and collects them. Buffy follows through with each student who shows interest and she will contact me (the mentor coordinator) if she senses a need.”
Nason has helped the program for many years and she has stated quite often that she believes in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program as well as the students who are involved in it. Downs said, “Buffy works hard to see that each student’s needs are met. I am very thankful for such a devoted contact.”
