Dog classes
AUBURN – The Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will start another six-week dog obedience class Wednesday, Aug. 15, in Auburn. Beginner classes will be held at 6:30 p.m. and advanced at 7:30. Voiture picnic
BUCKFIELD – Voiture 354, Forty & Eight, will hold its annual summer picnic at noon Sunday, Aug. 19, at the home of Jesse Pierce, Old Town Farm Road. All members are invited.
Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 7 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Leslie Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; second, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; third, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Ron and Connie Reynolds; tied at fifth, Fred Letourneau and Jeanine Kivus with Larry Fortier and Claire Lyons.
Winners in Flight B were: first, Ron and Connie Reynolds; second, Larry Fortier and Claire Lyons. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the center.
The club also met on Aug. 8 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; third, Richard Allen and Richard Balian; fourth, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin. Flight B winners were Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner.
Another game will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For a partner or more information, call Lucille Theriault at 783-0431.
Scholarship ride
FARMINGTON – Farmington Elks Lodge will sponsor the Tim Maillet Scholarship Ride, the fifth annual poker run, on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Prizes will be $500 for the best hand, $300 for the second best hand, $100 for the worst hand and $100 for the closest mileage guess. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the cost is $20.
There will be T-shirts, prizes, a meal and entertainment. This event is open to all vehicles. For more information, call Jon at 778-1959.
Elks tourney
FARMINGTON – Farmington Elks Lodge 2430 will sponsor the Elks National Foundation 11th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 23, at Wilson Lake Golf Course in Wilton.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. The four-man best ball scramble entry fee is $200 a team. It includes the cart, banquet and awards. The banquet and presentations will be held at the Farmington Elks Lodge.
