AUBURN – David Charles Coy, 74, of 414 Lower St., Turner, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Clover Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.

He was born in Acushnet, Mass., on Sept. 20, 1932, the son of Arthur and Clara Higgins Coy.

He worked various jobs over the years, including several years as a longhaul truck driver, and as a baker for Lepage Bakeries for seven years prior to retiring due to ill health in 1986.

On Dec. 29, 1979, he was married to the former Claudette Anctil in Litchfield.

He enjoyed sports, especially football, both as a player in his younger years and as a life-long Patriots fan.

He was also a fan of Irish and Celtic music, and was a history buff.

Survivors include his wife of Turner; a daughter, Debra, and husband, Ralph Perkins Sr., of Milton, Vt.; a sister, Althea O’Brien of Buzzards Bay, Mass.; four grandchildren, Dawn, and husband, Jim Tye Sr., Sharonlee, and husband, Clem Bottini, Ralph Perkins Jr. and William Perkins; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Frederick Perkins.

The family would like to thank the staff of Clover Healthcare for all the kindness and care they gave to David during his final illness.
