LEWISTON – Mayor Larry Gilbert said he plans to tackle a host of city topics each month on a videotaped chat on Great Falls Television.

The program will be shown on the local cable access channel four times each Thursday – at 3 a.m., 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Gilbert said plans to tape new programs once each month.

The first program, a discussion of a possible landfill deal with Casella Solid Waste, was taped Wednesday afternoon. It features legislator Elaine Makas, D-Lewiston, and City Administrator Jim Bennett.

“I’d like to talk about immigrants and refugees possibly later on,” Gilbert said. He’d also like to talk about common misunderstandings about refugees.

“These are just chats, opportunities to hear what people have to say about a variety of a topics,” Gilbert said. “It might be two people, it might be a panel or might just be one person talking about a subject. But it’s good information to get out to people.”

Great Falls TV is shown on Time Warner Channel 11 and Oxford Networks Channel 2.
