MECHANIC FALLS – June Lorraine (Robinson) Gagnon, 81, was called to be with our Lord and Saviour Tuesday, Aug. 7, and passed away at her home with her loving husband, Rene, children and granddaughter Carol at her side.
She was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Auburn to Omer and Dorothy (Buckley) Robinson. She was educated in Auburn schools. She married her soul mate and the love of her life, Rene, July 10, 1943, and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
Her first passion in life was her husband and children. She also loved making homemade butter, bread, root beer, gooseberry wine, canned garden vegetables and especially camping with Rene. She enjoyed watching birds, sewing and her cats.
She was employed by Nickles Tea Room, Nan-King Restaurant, Bates Mill, Kings Department Store, Goodwins Ice Cream, Chick-A-Dee, Oxford Plains Speedway and co-owned and operated Elm Street Variety with her husband in Mechanic Falls.
She also found time to foster five children. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Survivors include her husband, Rene J. Gagnon of Mechanic Falls; children Loretta Enman of Otisfield, Rena Sawyer, and her husband, Archie, of Poland, David Gagnon of Mechanic Falls, Jean Smith, and husband, Bob, of Lewiston and Patricia Pelletier, and husband, Bert, of Oxford; 23 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; her precious grandson, Jeremy Gagnon, whom they helped raise; and brothers and sisters Edith Wright, Dorothy Baril, Gloria Ludbury, Donna Meisner, Edward Robinson, John Robinson, Thomas Robinson and George Cobb.
She was predeceased by her mom and dad; one brother, Omer Robinson; one sister, Betty Kolreg; one daughter, Cindy Lynn Annance; and infant son, Joseph R. Gagnon.
