AUBURN – Marilyn A. Hooper, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, Aug. 9, at Clover Health Care. She had been a resident of Clover for one month, and had previously made her home with her nephew and his wife, Ronald and Janet Pinkham of Oxford.
She was born in Bucks Harbor on Nov. 29, 1912, the daughter of Harvey and Edna Sprague Hooper. She graduated from South Portland High School and had been employed for more than 25 years as the manager of cosmetics and eventually a drug store in New York.
After learning the stock business in her later years, she retired from Merrill Lynch after 10 years as a stockbroker. She was a very active member of the Baptist church of White Plains, N.Y., and was a past treasurer.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Muriel and Jim Dorn of Salem, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Gloria Hooper of Winter Spring, Fla.; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Darrell Hooper; sisters, Millicent Daggett, Leona Hooper and Helen Pinkham.
