BANGOR – Palmerino “Paul” John Amato, 73, died July 26, in Bangor. He was born June 22, 1934, in Millinocket, the son of John and Josephine (Ianniello) Amato.
He was a graduate of Schenck High School, East Millinocket, attended Bentley College and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for many years as a salesperson in the bearings and transmission industry.
He was a former member of the American Legion and Brewer Kiwanis. He was an avid golfer and a member of Bangor Municipal Golf course, where he worked after retirement.
Surviving are two children, daughter, Pamela A. Sirois, and her fiancé, Ron Mattson, of Cumberland and son, Dr. Michael P. Amato, and his wife, Wendy Warford Amato, of Staunton, Va.; their mother, Peg Amato; two granddaughters, Sydney A. Sirois and Elizabeth K. Amato; one sister, Mary Sheehan, and her husband, Charles, of Berlin, N.H.; one brother, the Rev. Antonio Amato of Lewiston; an aunt, Mary Provenzano, and her husband, James, of East Millinocket; nieces, nephews, and their families, Cara Walker, Teresa, Patrick and Christopher Sheehan; and cousins.
