The second floor of the annex of a popular downtown gift shop in Bridgton was destroyed Saturday by fire, officials said.

Police shut down Main Street while firefighters battled the blaze late Saturday afternoon at Craftworks at 79 Main St.

A neighbor said the portion of the building that burned was used for storage.
